Just a couple of bits and pieces you might want to know as you head to the Delmarva Paddlers’ Retreat

35143 Camp Arrowhead Road, Lewes, DE 19958 should get you close on the GPS.  Google Maps does show 35268 Homestead Way, Lewes, DE, 19958 as an address which is right in the Camp. 

​

The weather is usually warm and dry. But remember Mother Nature socked us in for 5 days for our 25th with a persistent Nor'easter, so bring appropriate gear. This is Delmarva, one day is bound to be rainy, but sometimes more.

As you enter our State you might also want to be aware of a few things. 

​

- First off, our lovely small towns earn big money in speed traps, you’ve been warned.

​

-  Sussex County, where Camp Arrowhead is located, is the number one chicken producing county in the world. There will be chicken on the menu at least one night. 

​

- The Dogfish Head Brewery is located in Milton Delaware just slightly off RT 1 and RT 16, both highways many of you will be traveling on. They sell all of their product, pints, growlers, delicious sausage sandwiches all right there. For GPS purposes, please use 511 Chestnut St., Milton, DE 19968 http://www.dogfish.com/

-If you are looking to replenish your adult beverages, just south of the Rt 24 turn off of Rt 1 look for Atlantic Liquors, 19108 Coastal Hwy, Rehoboth Beach, DE. The sign says "Greatest Liquor Store in the World" (a little ribbing at an establishment in Dewey Beach) but it does have a pretty good selection at the best prices, maybe on the peninsula. http://www.atlanticliquors.net/

- We are proud of our moniker, Lower Slower Delaware, where there is no need to do today what can be put off till tomorrow.  So come paddle on LSD and enjoy the area.
