All that's required is your dedication, attention, and a willingness to make a lot of wood shavings. By the end of the workshop, you will have the satisfaction of taking home your very own Greenland paddle, ready to be paddled and admired. This workshop will begin by reviewing paddle carving considerations such as sizing, wood choices, construction options, and paddle variations. Next, you will be introduced to your pre-shaped paddle blank and shown the techniques used to prepare it. Then carving and shaping will begin in earnest. Basic tool safety, precautions, and carving techniques will be covered throughout the workshop to ensure you are equipped with the skills and knowledge to transform your unfinished paddle blank into a finished Greenland paddle. The workshop will conclude with a review of protective finish options to consider once you bring your new paddle home.
